When I was around 20 years old, it was becoming clear to me that the direction my life was taking was putting me at odds with the conservative world I was brought up in. This song is a story about escaping the feelings of guilt, searching for happiness, and being okay with what is. Jumping into the world of the unknown can be frightening, but also freeing, Facing your fears can bring about fearlessness. Feeling opposite feelings at the same time may be confusing, but it may lead to a new understanding of oneness.
